Sometimes You Win, Sometimes You Learn

Beautiful text I'd love to share from our dearest mentor Dr. Habib Sadeghi on Instagram:

"Family, from a deeper place of humility caresharing what our beloved  @lbreggy posted today: “Every morning I start my day off by reading a page or 2 in a few inspirational books.

Today’s reading was “Within” by my dear friend, holistic doctor and spiritual teacher @drhabibsadeghi . I love what he wrote and wanted to share with you all for some #wenesday #humpday #motivation 🙌 “We learn half of what we need from our success and the other half from our failures. What we learn from our most recent failure only leads to the next success.

Thomas Edison failed 1,000 times before he was successful in creating the light bulb. He would later say the he didn’t fail 1,000 times. Inventing the light bulb had 1,000 steps. Interesting perspective. Knowing what doesn’t work is just as important as knowing what does. Mistakes are good they point us in a whole new direction. How many walls will a mouse run into before he finally exits the maze? If it weren’t for the road blocks he would never have found the way out.

Perfectionism holds us back. It makes us apprehensive and afraid to take chances because it might not turn out the way we want it to. Ultimately, our life becomes stuck and we don’t move forward. A life lived in fear is a life half lived. The Rev. Robert Schiller said it best when he said, “Its better to do something imperfectly than nothing perfectly.” NBA superstar Michael Jordan also knew the perfection of being imperfect when he said, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take” 🙏
