City Hearts - Fresh Focus Charity Auction
I had the pleasure of attending City Heart’s Fresh Focus Charity Photography auction as a contributor photographer on September 8, 2019.
Founded in 1984, City Hearts is Southern California’s preeminent Arts Education outreach program that transforms the lives of the most-at-risk children and youth in economically challenged neighborhoods through the highest quality Arts education. [The Charity is] dedicated to providing the highest quality Arts education and experiences to children in the most economically stressed neighborhoods of southern California, thereby enhancing self-esteem, creativity, literacy, social and academic skills while strengthening the health and vitality of the children and their community.
City of Angels
My photo, City of Angels, a 20x20 print on Moab Slickrock Metallic Silver 300 (Mounted and Framed without glass) was auctioned during the event.
From the Fresh Focus Website:
Kourosh Khajavi considers himself a Global Citizen with a great love and respect for the world and humanity - regardless of gender, religion or race. He has lived most of his adult life in Los Angeles. Being part of the Leica community has inspired him to become a passionate photographer. Kourosh lives in gratitude for being a part of the amazing “Love Button Global Movement” that has created a space for him to meet and capture the lights of some amazing human beings such as Dr. Habib Sadeghi, Mr. Chris Martin, Javier Bardem, and Maestro Gustavo Dudamel. He loves capturing the essence of his daily life as a collection of photographs and documenting his life story for the generations to come in this way. Kourosh always carries at least one Leica camera with him, loves black and white photography, and his favorite lens is the Leica 50mm Noctilux.
The night brought together breathtaking pictures, wonderful people and many lovers of photography for a great cause. Some of the special guests included: Fresh Focus Honoree Nick UT, Special Guest MC Jeff Garlin, Curator Paris Chong and photographers Andrew Zappin, Herb Ritts, Glen Wexler, Douglas Kirkland and Neal Preston.
Please enjoy a some pictures of both the guests and the works that were auctioned below.
